In addition to our usual patrols in the Prospect Road communities, we are sometimes called upon in special situations. Some of these are listed below. Our mobility and communications capabilities, through use of police radios, cell phones and amateur (ham) radio, makes our unit valuable for many purposes.

• Checking citizens' homes, when they are away. ( Residence Checks )

• Provding eight Halloween night patrol units from Exhibition Park to Peggy's Cove. We are able to deter vandalism, and have been the first on site at a couple of situations, and able to call them in to fire and RCMP services.

• During the summer of 2004, COP members helped by providing security with the RCMP during the Tall Ships event.

• Passing information out with the RCMP during roadside checks.

• Aiding Search & Rescue by: delivering and picking up searchers along the highway, patrolling the roads in case the person walked out of the  woods and , in the case of missing children, going door to door with photos.

• Assisting in providing security and parking assistance at some large Exhibition Park Events.

• When the events of Sept 11th happened, our COP members worked with the RCMP to assist stranded air passengers at Exhibition Park.

• Providing reports on our acitvities to the RCMP.

• Responding to various needs of citizens who come into our COP Office.

• Aiding RCMP operations through regular discussions with them about their service in our area.
